Today the media cares more about what is going on in celebrities lives then important issues. When you flip through the channels you tend to see more news about the death of Heath Ledger and the drama with Britney Spears than the presidential debate. Why is this? It's strange that this is what people care more about. I cant say that I wouldnt rather watch E! then CNN, but has the media aslways been like this.
The wide spread need for news on celebrities has increased grealty in the past few years. When I was younger I never remember seeing much like that on tv. Why is there such a need now. It seems as though priorties has shifted greatly and will on change more in the years to come.

Its because all the media cares about is making money and showing all the drama going on in celebrities lives probably gives them more ratings than showing the debates.
I definately agree with you. But the media plays what is most watched by the audience so I'm not sure it's all to blame on the media alone.
